Why would they skip Div III, and go straight to Div II?
Athlectic director for uva at wise just said on WAXM that the WBIAC some group that determines weather a college can move up is looking at weather they will allow them to move up to NCAA division 2 ! Whats everyone's thoughts on the move?

Why would they skip Div III, and go straight to Div II?
Wouldn't division III be a step down? Zero scholarships..

um... got a few ... well, basically all.. of your facts wrong.
It's wViac
They're a conference, not a determining group
no one tells a school what Div. they can or can't play at... NCAA & NAIA rules (like scholly #s) determine that
it wasn't "just" announced

When I first came to UVa-Wise, that was the talk of going up to Division II. They chose NAIA instead, and I think they've regretted it. As soon as the NCAA tag is applied to a school, they get a huge funding overhaul. Especially having the new facility and turf at UVA-Wise, this is a smart move. All NCAA affiliated facilities are top of the line. I'm doing another degree at King College...super small, but NCAA funded and the new gym is amazing!
surprise surpriseum... got a few ... well, basically all.. of your facts wrong.

UVA-Wise could easily compete well with these schools trust me. That and I live in Charleston, WV now so U of Charleston and WV State are right there in town, it'd be great to root for the hometown boys. Plus it'd give fans a great chance to explore the great state of West by God. WV and SWVA share a lot more similarities than people back home would like to admit.
Better funding, closer rivals, cultural similarities... I'm a fan of this move.
